Edward Bushel, LEED AP BD&C, GPRO:CM

Ed Bushel, Principal of Axia Construction Group, has been active in the Colorado construction industry since 1993 when he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Colorado State University. Upon graduation, Ed joined Swinerton Builders where he managed commercial and multi-family construction projects ranging from $8 million to $115 million in value, including the following:

AVAYA RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT FACILITY, Westminster, CO: $123 million, 450,000-square-foot office building.

SUN MICROSYSTEMS CAMPUS PHAS E 1, Broomfield, CO: $84 million 563,000-square-foot, five-building office campus.

BELMAR BLOCKS 3 & 4, Lakewood, CO, $13.1 million, Core and shell construction of the four buildings that encompass blocks 3 & 4 at Belmar

After 11 years with Swinerton Builders, Ed formed Axia Construction Group. He has provided owner’s representative services on a number of projects ranging from $4 mil to $23 mil in size, including multi-family, mixed-use and senior care facilities. He has also provided general contractor services on a number of tenant improvement and tenant build-out projects ranging from under $100k to $500k in size, including dental, medical, office, retail and residential remodel project types.

Ed is an adjunct professor for CSU-Pueblo where he teaches scheduling for the construction management certificate program in Colorado Springs. Just recently, Ed became a certified trainer for the new GPRO certificate program, a program designed by Urban Green, an affiliate to the New York chapter of the USGBC.

As a LEED AP BD&C and GPRO:CM certificate holder and trainer, Ed demonstrates his passion for sustainability and understanding of the impact that today’s construction industry has on our future generations.

When not working Ed enjoys coaching his three sons in baseball, watching them play soccer and lacrosse, as well as skiing and enjoying the outdoors with his wife and kids.

Vaughn Miller

Vaughn Miller, Project Executive for Axia Construction Group, has over 23 years of directing and managing projects for corporate, high technology, medical, industrial, institutional and residential clients.

Prior to joining Axia Construction, Vaughn owned Interior Design Build and S2 Development, general contracting and construction management firms respectively, specializing in mixed-use, hospitality, retail and office tenant finish in the Vail Valley.

Vaughn has also worked for Vail Resorts Development Company, Cordillera Development and Masthead Development in the Vail Valley as a Development and Construction Project Manager.

Before relocating to Colorado, Vaughn lived in Phoenix, AZ where he worked for Stevens Leinweber Construction. During this time, Vaughn managed a number of downtown, Class A office tenant build-out projects ranging in size from 10,000 sf to as large as 120,000 sf, including the following:

WHITE MICROELECTRONICS, 47,000 sf micro-chip manufacturing tenant improvement

Vaughn’s diverse career experience coupled with his local experience with associations, municipalities and local vendors provides him with a unique insight and ability to add value to any project. He has a solid background in many areas of the Real Estate and construction process, providing him intimate understanding of all phases and aspects of the development and construction process. He successfully combines project team leadership, an understanding of the construction process and strong client skills.

During his free time Vaughn enjoys skiing, mountain biking and spending time with his two children.
